Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Spawnrank is operated by Joydle Interactive Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17233012), registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal data described here. We collect as little as we can.

2. What we collect

When you browse

• We don't use advertising trackers, ad networks or third-party analytics, and we don't set cookies.
• To count store clicks and Community pick votes once per person per day, we store a one-way hash made from your IP address, browser user agent, the date and a secret value. We can't reverse it to get your IP, and because the date is part of it, it can't link your visits across days.
• Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your own browser's local storage and never sent to us.
• Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and request details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and keeps short-lived logs for that purpose.
• The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser details when it serves them.

When you list a game or pay

• Listing details you submit (title, description, genre, cover image link, store links and studio name) are published on Spawnrank.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your email, card details and billing country; we never receive your full card number. From Stripe we keep the payment amount, time, status and Stripe's payment reference.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful bases

• To run the board and process payments: to perform our contract with you.
• To count clicks and votes, prevent fraud and manipulation, and keep the service secure: our legitimate interests in a fair, working leaderboard.
• To keep payment and accounting records: to meet our legal obligations.

4. Who we share it with

• Cloudflare: hosting, database and content delivery.
• Stripe: payment processing.
• Google Fonts: web fonts.
• Stores you click through to: when you follow a store link, the store receives a visit tagged with "spawnrank" as the source. We don't pass your identity to them.
• Authorities, when the law requires it, and a buyer of our business, with notice to you.

We don't sell personal data.

5. How long we keep it

• Click and vote hashes are kept while the game they relate to is listed.
• Payment and billing records are kept for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.
• Listing details are kept while the listing exists, and removed listings are deleted within 90 days unless we need them to handle a dispute.

6. International transfers

Our providers process data in the United States and other countries. For transfers out of the UK or EEA we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement and/or the Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and, where it applies, the EU GDPR, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for a copy in a portable format. Because click and vote hashes can't be tied back to you, we usually can't find records relating to them. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

8. Children

Spawnrank isn't directed at children under 13, and you must be 18 or over to list a game or pay. If we learn we've collected personal data from a child under 13, we delete it.

9. Changes

We'll post any changes here and update the date above. For material changes we'll also show a notice on Spawnrank.
